After being an atheist for a long time I returned to Christianity with the realization that we humans have the ability to experience spirituality and so why should I turn away from experiencing one more thing? It would be like plucking out my eyes because using them I cannot see things in themselves (in the Hegelian sense). From my previous Wiccan background (yes, that too) I understand Christianity as a Mediterranean mystery religion, a synthesis of Judaism and Helenism. I rarely bring this up to members my nice Episcopalian cohort because, of shit I'm rambling and I need to get this day going. Time for choir practice!
