As I read this Trump has already won by a landslide, increasing his numbers in every demographic group, especially in Latino districts. Among black people his support also increased. I haven't seen those broken down by biological sex yet, I guess because that's harder to do.
I used to be so hopeful, now I am resigned to being on the wrong side of history. The world will chug along without me.
Maybe they will overreach so extravagantly that there will be a backlash, but then what? I'm a registered Democrat but the first to admit my party hasn't had a new idea in decades, unless you want to count Bill Clinton's "triangulation," and we have seen how that turned out. We now have a far right party and a center right party. Kamala tried more of this by putting Lin Cheney on stage. A lot of good that did. She might have carried Michigan had she not been so petrified of AIPAC.
Do you read Freddie DeBoer on Substack? He can be infuriating but only because he gets so many things right.
