At my dad’s 50th he declared that he had lived “Half the years I intend to live.” He insisted on 50 actually candles on the cake. It took him to blows to get them all. Not bad! it was hard to get near the cake for the heat.He died at 85. No one knows. It was sudden. He had stopped by the post office as he was busy as usual with his gravity wave antenna. (That’s a story for another time.) He collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage and was dead within 48 hours. Most of that time he was unconscious. May I be granted an easy death like that, whenever it should befall me.
