Curation gets you more reads and all that but it is no badge of honor. Take for example this piece of crap which I just love to hate:

It’s a pile of stock phrases, unsupported assertions, and questionable grammar, yet it was curated (I originally found it in the Weekly Digest or whatever it’s called) and it has like a gazillion claps. I originally clapped for it because I read it all the way through, but I just undid my claps.

Believe in your writing and carry on. I get the occasional curation and I’m happy for them, but I’m not especially surprised when something I think is good is not curated, but I’m still surprised when they curate something of mine that I think is “meh.”
