DeSantis can’t get any traction because he copies only the hatred of Trumpism and none of the joy. Before you say it I'm not a Trumper, but you have to be blind to miss its joyous aspect, exemplified in the boat parade. It's the joy that comes of sticking a thumb in the eye of The Establishment. Whether one thinks Trump is part of The Establishment is beside the point. They are all having great naughty fun saying racist things and slapping on bumper stickers that say "Fuck you Biden" spelled out in AR-15s. It's rather like the hippie movement of the 1960s turned on its head.
