For me it's The Brokenwood Mysteries, which is like Murder She Wrote except British. Each episode is a brand new case, so they have to try it up in a nice neat bow in an hour or so. The murderer always confesses. Like Cabot Cove, Brokenwood has an extraordinarily high murder rate. It's not quite as corny as Murder She Wrote but it's close.
