Good on them. Cars are increasingly anachronistic. Even if you drive frequently they sit most of the time in your driveway doing nothing, unless you are in an urban area where odds are you are paying for them to sit there and do nothing.
My daughter recently passed her driving test at age 32, and does not intend to get a car any time soon. Yet she could afford it. I'd say she's smart.
