Having been around then, I can't shake the creepy feeling that what we are seeing now, Trump, the Proud Boys, the insurrection, is a weird and scary inversion of 1960s hippie culture. Guns / flowers. Hate / love. Violence / peace. Cooptation by the establishment / suppression. Think about it. Who is chanting "freedom, freedom, freedom" now? Who is saying trust the (scientific) establishment?
