Here in the US, If it wasn’t so deadly it would simply be embarrassing. Fortunately some of the state governors have stepped up, including unloved ones such as Andrew Cuomo of New York. Here in Rhode Island Gina Raimondo has shown herself steady and reassuring while not trying to sugar coat things.

It tells you all you need to know about the sorry state of our national leadership that these governors receive praise from former detractors for simple competence.
