How did I ever had time to have a job? I found I didn’t have to add anything in order to keep busy. I rejoined a couple of choirs I’d quit for lack of time. Now just recently I had to quit a couple of choirs in order to make room for a brass band I joined. Plus I’ve continued my practice of going everywhere by bicycle.

When I was 66 and still working, my boss would say, “Q, if there was ever anybody who should retire it’s you. I know guys that — their job is all they have! You have your music, theater, even fucking martial arts! Jesus!”

The martial arts thing (Aikido) I started when I was 65 BTW. It keeps me loosened up.
