I applaud anyone willing to be so contrarian and take the flack. But if there is one common thread in recent history it's that people have defeated foes much more powerful than they are defending their own territory. Vietnam defeated the US. Afghanistan defeated the US also, as well as Russia. Oh yeah it was the Soviet Union then. The US was forced into an ignominious exit from Iraq. Might as well just say the Iraqis won. The Palestinians refuse to give up no matter what.
Originally I thought the Russians were just going to roll over them and the whole thing would be over in a few months if not weeks.
One possibly is that the Russians "win" but are stuck with unending partisan skirmishes and terrorism. Ukraine becomes a millstone hanging from Russia's neck.
But really no one knows what the future will bring, but everybody loves making predictions.
