I embrace the word “old.” I’m 69 now which means that I’ll be at the “terribly strange” age of 70 next year, as long as we are anchoring this with popular songs.

I take pride in being old. It means that I didn’t do the dumbass things that get people killed at an earlier age. Not that there isn’t a strong element of luck involved. We always have to remember that there but for the grace of etc. Still I’m remaining active physically and socially. I took up Aikido just as I was turning 65, having never studied a martial art before and having always sucked at athletic pursuits. Anyway, old is good. I embrace it.
