I had the 45 and I must have listened to it like 400 times on my crappy teenage record player. It had detachable speakers and I’d lay on the floor and put one on each side of my head and play it what was probably a dangerously high volume, much to the consternation of my (alcoholic) mother.

This particular lyric was the one that a lonely, bullied teenager could most identify with so I wanted to hear them again and again and again. It didn’t hurt that I thought the instrumental portion of the music was the most boss thing I’d ever heard.
