I just love my hearing aids! I've had them for about 7 years.
One striking thing they did was improve my singing. I love choral singing but was struggling with intonation. One director in particular would call me out for it. She runs a small ensemble so everyone is "visible."
After I got my first pair the problem went away. I think it's because all musical pitches have overtones which reach up very high. High frequencies are the first to go in the case of age related hearing loss. You use the overtones to maintain pitch, but without exactly thinking about it. So when the overtones were restored to me it was like magic!
I told my audiologist about it. Apparently I'm the only one of her patients who reports this effect, which sort of seems odd.
I think it helped that I didn't try to go cheap but broke out the $$$ for quality.
