I just read the previous article, the one you link to, and while I too prefer liberal democracy to religious autocracy, largely out of concern for the queers in my life such as my daughter, I have to wonder if the state of Israel counts as a liberal democracy any more. But a lot of people there are pushing back against Netanyahu, so that has to count for something.
