COVID will never end. So I’m hoping against hope but looking forward to November 3rd the way a condemned man looks forward to the gallows.

For me it’s just a feeling. I have no data to back it up. About this time in 2016 I texted my daughter, “Trump’s gonna win.” On the 4th I awakened to her text, “You were right.”

Then as now I signed up for a monthly contribution to the Democratic campaign. Then as now this unleashed a flood of emails begging for more.

Joe Biden is a decent enough guy. After he swept Super Tuesday I’d say to my BernieBro friends, “Sorry, but in the Democratic party, black votes matter. Please stop telling me about your young black BernieBro friend. Without the aunties you ain’t got shit.”

I’m old enough to remember Eugene McCarthy. So are the aunties. If Sanders was the nominee he’d be trailing by like 20 points even now.

I pray that Biden/Harris will squeak one out. But if I were a betting man…
