I know what you mean. I been here since 2015 and in the partner program since oh I don't know. At first I struggled to cover the cost of my subscription now that happens before the first week is out even if I don't write anything.

Do you remember when the partner program started? I thought the hand wringing would never stop. It was the death of Medium. Quality writing would vanish. Etc, etc. Now every rules change brings a flurry of articles about how unfair it is. Do you remember when reader engagement time took over from claps as the main determinant of how much partner program members got? You would have thought the world had ended. Every humor writer, poet and cartoonist was going to abandon Medium leaving it to the self-help hacks. So keep the changes coming I say. It gives unimaginative people something to write about.
