I love this stuff. My father, who died in 2020 at the age of 84, had as his last amateur astronomical project the building of a gravity wave detector. He’d be 101 now so there is no more too-bad-he-didn’t-live-to-see talk. Of course his apparatus did not detect anything but it was clever. He was into the process.
