I love this subject.
Consciousness can only exist embedded in the world. There can be no consciousness that is not consciousness of something. Descartes was wrong. Our consciousness is embodied and as a result intelligence arises from lived experience. One would have to, at the very least, stick an ANN with an LLM in a robot body and raise it as a child.
