I see a lot of — presumably white — people screaming at you in the responses, yet I have the same creepy feeling as you: Trump’s gonna win. This in spite of the fact that he has demonstrated his total incompetence when faced with an actual crisis. At first he was able to more or less maintain the economic growth bequeathed to him by Obama and take credit for it. Now, what in God’s name is he running on? “I’ve been in charge for almost 4 years now and everything is a total shitshow. Vote for me!” We white people — not that I voted for him but I’m white after all — put him there in '16 and if he wins this time, it will be white people again. Sorry all you my fellow white people out there screaming about how the OP is racist but it’s true. Trump is a proven nincompoop. He even had a complete plan for how to deal with a pandemic left from the Obama administration but he tossed it in the bin on day one. (Why has everyone seemingly forgotten about that?) There is no reason to vote for him other than out of racism. If not racism then precisely because he has demonstrated total incompetence — an even more chilling thought, if that is even possible. Maybe last time you could point to displaced industrial workers in the Midwest and say they feel forgotten. But he has done nothing for them except get a bunch of them killed. Yet they support him. What is left other than racism? It isn’t rational, logical or sensible but since when has reason, logic, or good sense had anything to do with it? Dying of whiteness, but eating it up.

I…would not be in the least surprised if all of a sudden, A PROPOS of nothing, in the midst of general prosperity a gentleman with an ignoble, or rather with a reactionary and ironical, countenance were to arise and, putting his arms akimbo, say to us all: "I say, gentleman, hadn’t we better kick over the whole show and scatter rationalism to the winds, simply to send these logarithms to the devil, and to enable us to live once more at our own sweet foolish will!"

Fyodor Dostoevsky, Notes from Underground, chapter VII.
