I so much applaud that. I commuted by bike for like 15 years. I’m still at it in retirement in that I maintain a busy schedule.

I wouldn’t mind if the drivers looked at me more. Sometimes they don’t appear to notice and do dangerous and illegal things.

I don’t use my local bike paths much anymore because the upkeep is so neglected. All those root bumps — too many broken spokes.

I studiously avoid looking over attractive women on the street lest they think I’m some old creep. If I’m on my bike then it’s also a matter of personal safety.
