I think about it rather a lot but then I'm 73 so it's closer than before, and my brother died last year, and ex-wife died last month. She was the very picture of non-preparation. No will. No medical or financial powers of attorney. No advanced directive. All so typical of her I can't even tell you.
I have all that shit in place and just wrote a new will. It's important to keep that kind of thing up to date, as death can bring out the greed in some people.
I'm a guy who goes to church nearly every Sunday, and sometimes mid-week. Recently I've become convinced that if God is truly merciful like everyone says then it's lights out. Human beings can't handle eternity. Plus there is biblical text to back this notion up.
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:”(Rev. 21:4) Oblivion satisfies those conditions. Nothing in there about fun stuff! You have to advance two verses before you even get a drink.(Rev. 21:6)
