I think you nailed it in this article. If any good comes out of all of this, maybe it will be that we find our way out of the paradoxes of postmodernism. If it is true, and I can't think of any way out of this, that the world as experienced by our species consists of stories, then we could look upon Trump as a master manipulator of the same. It has long vexed me that the Democratic party no longer has a coherent story. MAGA has an incoherent story but that doesn't matter: Trump tells it with such seeming self-assurance that he's like an alcoholic who believes his own bullshit.
What ever falls out of this I certainly hope people who acknowledge a difference between right and wrong will figure out how to tell that story. It is stories all the way down, for better or worse.
As I write this the MAGA story is poised to confirm RFK Jr. to whatever the fuck it is he will be in charge of. The unnecessary deaths of thousands of children from preventable diseases will follow as night follows day. It won't be pretty.
