I thought it was against Medium rules to do that: Copy a story verbatim, then delete the Medium version, then paste the original story in a draft and publish it again as if it was new. I did that once in 2019, I don’t remember why, but a day or to later I got an email from Medium spelling out that policy. It wasn’t directed at me personally, but I figured it was like, "Hint, hint." so I changed its status to unpublished. (I'd put a link in my band's Slack workspace.)
Then IIRC I looked it up and sure enough, it's the law.
