I try to imagine what this would have been like for me had it occurred 15 years ago when our daughter was a school-age child. Since I’m retired I have the luxury of staying in and hiding as much as I want. Even so, although I haven’t been to any restaurants — OK once when my brother from Florida stopped by as part of his post-probation road trip — I’ve strayed on occasion.
Everyone weighs the risks against the personal importance. I notice a few shamers among your respondents. I wouldn’t pay them much mind if I were you.
