I used it a ton also, just not to publish. I always went to the laptop for that. But it’s going to suck not being able to write and edit from a phone. You raise excellent points about how this will effect people in various kinds of dire circumstances.

So far it hasn’t overtaken me yet. I haven’t gotten that message. I am, at least I thought it was, a Beta tester but I didn’t see this coming and in fact it hasn’t reached me yet. WTF?

I have no expectation that the Medium gods will listen to user prayers. One has to wonder, what is the endgame here? Maybe I’ll delete the Medium app & use the web version from my phone. It’s sluggish but in a variety of ways better. There does not seem to a way to initiate stories that way, but for the time being at least I can still use the Medium Android app for that. However, stories so initiated don’t show up in the “Drafts” list on the app.
