I wish I knew

Two things about Medium I wouldn’t mind learning

The screenshot above reflects a typically pitiful summation of the views for one of my stories.

The first mystery concerns the external views. I’m not on social media (unless you count Medium) so I never share my stories. OK, sometimes on Slack with the band, but I know which ones they are. Besides I use friend links for that, and Medium breaks that out for you. Also I occasionally share by text with my old buddy Rkayell, but that nearly always involves drafts, and again I know which ones they are, and the one pictured above is not one of them. What bizarre search terms could lead someone to, for example, Things Get Weird, Part 3, which is the concern of the graph shown above? I’d love to know that.

The other mystery is who those two views on Medium on January 5th were. I’d love to know, but I don’t think I ever will. Maybe that’s for the best. I often feel obligated to reply to replies, so if I knew the identity of views, I might find myself wanting to — eek! Occasionally one of my stories actually takes off a bit. Can you imagine trying to somehow thank everybody who read your story? I can’t.

Getting back to those external views, the tags for the story in question are Fiction, Horror, Climate Change, Religion, and God. Maybe that has something to do with the…
