I’d be inclined to disagree. He was clearly and knowingly taking advantage based on the job he held. It was probably not the first time. It is also not uncommon for people to do shit like that. Police do it during traffic stops. “Well, if you give me dinner money it can go away.” Underpaid prison guards are notorious for their bribe taking. How do you think drugs, cell phones, etc etc get into prisons?

I was an engineer and if I ever took a kickback I am sure I would have been fired immediately if it came to light. Taking financial advantage of one’s position of employment is a firing offense in every walk of life I can think of. It’s just that perps are only rarely found out, so kudos to you!
