I'm a similar sort of Christian except that I'm big on organized church. Being a solitary Christian would seem rather lonely, missing out on the best part.
When I was Wiccan I loved the festivals, which I discovered after my divorce, my wife and I having practiced mostly "solitary" as in just the two of us, for years.
Similarly, now I love my church, namely Grace Episcopal Church in Providence. That we perform more gay than straight marriages should give you some idea. The building is gorgeous and I love the choir. The music program is our pièce de résistance.
