I’m Calling It for Donald Trump

As I described in a previous post, I have been hard at work making calls to battleground states on behalf of Democrats so this prospect fills me with the utmost trepidation. But I ask you, as I have asked in other posts, when in the history of human kind have we done what is sensible, logical and rational? Don’t worry, I promise I won’t quote Dostoevsky again.

Many people can’t sleep these days due to the lurking dread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. With me it’s different. Although I’ve slept like a baby up until now, for the past few days, I’ve woken up at 4am thinking about what will happen during the four years of Trump’s second term, and beyond even. If he gets in by contesting the election and throwing it to his new toadies on the Supreme Court, then I guess I will have to get down there to DC and join the massive demonstrations that will surely break out in that eventuality and wait to be mowed down by automatic weapons fire from the police, who support Trump by large numbers and won’t hesitate to fire on us.

OK but what if he actually wins the electoral college and so has no need of shenanigans, and in which case there will be no point in demonstrating, except out of frustration, and so I would probably do that as well and die in a hail of police bullets, or crouch in fetal position as they beat…
