In Christian history, you can point to acts of charity and acts of violent oppression, but now after 2000 years we are pretty much were we were. I don't see why it is silly to point this out. A return to the consideration of loving kindness as a value to be striven for is worth striving for but I don't see much movement in that direction. Well maybe it will take a long time and I will not live to see any meaningful progress.
