Israel shouldn't be too cocky. The Viet Cong defeated the United States. The Afghan mujahideen defeated the Soviet Union. In both cases the more sophisticated and powerful military relied on aerial bombardment.
I'm a supporter of the right of the state of Israel to exist within secure borders, but superior technology and aerial bombardment do not guarantee success. If these massive bombing campaigns were ever going to make Israel safer they would have already done so. Instead they make life less safe for Jews around the world.
