It’s yet another bug in the mobile app, at least on Android. The rectangle is blank white when I’m following that person, or green with white letters if not following.

Or not, depending on the circumstances.

Or if you have blocked someone, no rectangle at all. I’ve only blocked 2 people in the 5 or so years I’ve been on Medium. One guy let loose with some anti-semitism, including spelling Jews “joos” and how they have all the money and conspire to run the world. The usual horseshit. That was years ago.

Then this guy just now, who became way tiresome with his dumb, ill-informed responses. If I start feeling sick when reading someone’s responses, or even thinking about it reading them, it’s time to block. I’m on Medium for fun and feeling sick is not fun.
