I've been married 34 years now. Before this time around I married at 27. She ran away with my best friend 5 years in, turning my life into a bad country song. After being single for about 8 years I was bloody sick of it. I'd had a few relationships but nothing lasting. Then I started dating this woman who made it clear that she wanted a child, felt like her maternity clock was nigh on midnight, and had no interest in the single mother's club. She was like, "I'm not saying you have to commit yourself right now, but if marriage is nowhere on your horizon please don't waste me time."
I was 40 then. 34 years later our daughter is on her own. I don't think we have ever loved each other more. You have to get over yourself in order to make this happen. I feel bad for these people who can't be bothered. They will die alone. Now that death is def on the horizon I can’t think of anything sadder. But as for me, I will be there for her or she will be there for me.

My young friends, get over yourselves! It is true what the song says:

"The greatest thing
you'll ever learn
Is just to love
and be loved
in return"

No woman ever murdered her husband while he was washing the dishes.
