I've been on one petit jury, where we acquitted the guy being charged with drug possession.
I've been on a grand jury which was endlessly depressing. Almost all the cases involved 1st degree sexual assault of a minor, meaning I had to know the difference between 1st degree sexual assault of a minor and 2nd degree sexual assault of a minor, which is depressing all by itself. The cases all had a wearying sameness to them. There was only one where I voted no true bill, but that was carried anyway.
