I've often wondered if it isn't just that out ape senses and brains evolved to keep us alive so we can pass on out DNA and to do that we don't need to know anything about subatomic particles. But we got clever enough to detect that world and describe it using math. But it doesn't make sense to our ape brains. Quantum theory may be giving us a glimpse of things-in-themselves, not to go all Hegel on you. But our senses don't have access to things-in-themselves so it boggles our minds. In a similar manner the size of the universe blows us away because our ancestors did not need to know that shit.
