Like that in the Star Wars galaxy, heavy objects in a gravitational field fall slowly and ponderously, while smaller objects just, well, drop. No Galileo in that galaxy. I guess that explains how John Boyega and Naomi Ackie make that little jump down from that Star Destroyer onto the Millennium Falcon near the end. It could also be that in the Star Wars galaxy, if you are hot enough, you get to do stuff like that. The M. F. (didn’t anyone ever notice that?) zips away without just leaving them hanging there, falling with the rest of the crap. They get to do that too.
And for good measure, everybody everywhere moves like they would in Earth’s gravity, so I guess all gravitational fields in the SW galaxy = g regardless of the mass of the planet. Either that or all the planets are of the same mass. Or something. Even Star Destroyers are of Earth mass, apparently, so Boyega and Ackie can run around like cats on one. That or it’s hotness-magic.
This shit distracts me every time. I guess that’s why I have scrupulously hate-watched every Star Wars episode as it hit the big screen.
