Looking back at this from mid-February of 2021, while there is reason for optimism that the worst of the COVID nightmare may be over (erm, did somebody say something about variants?) I still can't get past the brutal fact that it took a pile of a quarter million stiffs to defeat The Monster. Yet it was fucking CLOSE. With that kind of death heap it should have been a wash, but no! He's only off stage, in the wings. The part of me that I hate to listen to tells me we are So. FUCKED.
