My brother spent a considerable amount of time in PC being that he was in for child porn. He swore to me he never touched children but when he was in one particular hell hole and in PC he concocted a lie about being sexually threatened so he could get a Prison Rape Elimination Act case going and had me calling and emailing prison officials trying to get him transferred. I forgave him for the lie but that's not the same as forgetting. I could not help but think, "If he'd lie for that reason what else might he consider important enough to lie about?" So I had to tell him that I still believed him about the never having touched children but not with my former surity and he would just have to live with that. It's like, the implications of NOT believing him are too horrifying to contemplate, but he lied about the threats of sexual assault...
