Obvious, but can’t be reiterated to often. Even so rich people don’t get it because they don’t want to get it. I was recently listening to a podcast in which a woman who worked as a financial adviser for billionaires spoke about this very thing. They all think they deserve their billions because they "work hard." Like no one else works hard. They resent paying taxes because they think the government will waste it helping poor people (conveniently forgetting than very little tax revenue actually goes for that) and that will "deincentivize" them.
