Oh man I could not agree more. I’m 69, and less than half a year from 70. I got back to choir singing when I was in my fifties (I think) and it has proven a source of endless joy, challenge and inspiration. I sing both classical and gospel.

The Exult Gospel Choir’s Christmas show was this past weekend and my feet still haven’t gotten all the way back to the ground.

Then this past summer I got my baritone horn back from my sister (long story) so that I could join the Extraordinary Rendition Band. I had not played the baritone horn in more than fifty years, but I got it back. One of my besties had been after me to join ERB for years, telling me how much fun it is. I had no idea.

(Note that the above article is unlisted. That has to do with me discovering I was in violation of the Medium rules. I had both the above for use on the band’s web site, Facebook page and Twitter feed as well as a listed one in one of the Medium publications, both identical. That last missive from Medium seemed like it was addressed to me personally.)
