One of my beasties says, "Good, let them all die," but I can't go there. I can't wish death on people for being misled.

But didn't it all start with the Endangered Species Act? The ESA said, OK, you rural people, your livelihoods (read lives) are worth less than these animals. Read, you are less than animals. Salamanders are better than you.
I was, and am, as much a supporter of the ESA as any other liberal. But we were blind to that aspect of it. Yet it was a powerful slap in the face. As usual, there was vague talk of retraining. To do what exactly? Beam fake smiles at well-heeled tourists from the coasts?

Now there is the brouhaha over gas stoves. Joining toilets, light bulbs and guns. "You can have my gas stove, my high-flush toilet, my incandescent light bulb and my gun when you pry them from my cold dead fingers." You see buddy? The Republicans were after your gun all along.

Still, as Robert Zimmerman sang, "It ain't him ya blame, he's only a pawn in their game."

They are suffering. It's bad form to pour scorn upon those who suffer.

No woman ever murdered her husband while he was washing the dishes.
