Science is such a story. But we see that it has real world effects, so we figure we are on to something. So we develope steam engines and other engines that rely on fossil fuel. Ultimately we perceive, through the very same science, the terrible price to be paid. The same science also provided the internet and cell phones, enabling millions to deny this revelation. So one has to ask, how well has the story of science served us?
