Searching online for help is the best way to find scammers. That happened to my sister-in-law. She got as far as giving the guy her bank account number then freaked out and broke the connection. She called her brother who unhelpfully called her a dumb stupid idiot, then called me. What an asshat that brother of hers! She was practically in tears when she called me. When she told me told me the deets I recognized the scam from a podcast I'd listened to and told her to call her bank as soon as it opened the next day and the most she would be out was about $450. As it turned out she didn't lose anything.
