While I appreciate your condolences this is fiction. Amaryllis is loosely based on a real person but the original is currently alive and well having never had COVID-19. You are not alone in thinking it was autobiographical: Where Angels Fear thought so too.

Since you published it in Warm Hearts the only thing I did besides correct remaining typos* was add the link to your story. You may recall that at first I pulled it after submitting it, and sent you a PM explaining that I wanted to make some changes. That was when I rearranged it so that it opened with Amy’s phone calls. I thought that made for a more engaging opening.

I am beginning to allow myself to believe that we might yet, if not redeem, at least soon close the chapter of utter madness that has gripped my sorry-ass country🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞🙏!
