Thank you for restoring my faith in Medium. My early experience of Medium, back in 2015, was that there were a lot of stories like this. Now it's all "Ten Ways To Make Money."
My only problem was the last paragraph. I can see why you might not want to end on a gloomy note, but it was kind of jarring, like when the hero bursts through the window and shoots all the bad guys.
