Exult Gospel Choir just finished something like that with Ricardo Pitts-Wiley’s When I Sing to the River. (Which you don’t know. If you do I’m impressed!) I don’t think you have ever heard Exult. Prism of Praise, yes. Exult, no. Anyway the stage at Mixed Magic Theater had been converted to a “socially distanced” recording studio. The group was small. With the aid of mics, headphones, a sound board, and a sound tech we got it done. I found the headphones non-demonic and easy enough to use. I was able to hear everyone including myself. They didn’t mess with the balance between bone and air hearing overmuch (unlike ear buds). When the recording is ready I’ll write about the process and post it here on Medium.
