Thanks for writing this. There is so much variation surrounding COVID nothing surprises me any more.

I'm back to frequent testing in view of omicron. I had breakthrough COVID back in September but my wife didn't get it. We both had both shots by that time. My case was very light as befits a vaccinated person; two days of feeling like warmed over shit. But for the test I would not have known it was COVID.

I just learned today that my sister isn't vaccinated. She's a Trumper so no surprise. But her husband, also a Trumper and a retired pharmacist, is. Nevertheless I pray that she gets away with her folly. You can choose your friends but not your relatives. You would think the Trumpers would listen to Trump and get vaccinated, but no. They boo him instead. Guess he's jumped the shark.

I hope your fiancee remains fine. It's a drag when travel plans are disrupted. I'm getting a test tomorrow and my wife is on the day after. If either test is positive our travel plans will be thrown into disarray. We haven't seen this set of friends since before COVID, so that would be a drag.
