The current surge in cases got underway within weeks of “reopening” and spread everywhere. It should be enough to say hey, stay home people, if you must go out wear a mask, be smart but Americans being Americans it isn’t. Trump didn’t help by making mask wearing into a political statement but there it is there. People are dying of COVID-19 even as they deny that it exists and swear at the nurses. If that’s not sickening I don’t know what is. In the US we are just to fucking stupid and selfish to band together for the common good.

You just wait. When vaccines start coming out and someone tries to prioritize the people who have been hammered the worst as in black and brown Idiot America will break into a major shitstorm. Either that or people will go apeshit about their freedom not to be vaccinated.
