There is plenty of over-reach on the left, but "woke" as currently thrown around is nothing but a meaningless term of derision which indicates a refusal to acknowledge the one being accused of "woke" or those whom a supposedly "woke" remedy is trying to help, as human. In other words--sorry--bigotry. It is not that being oppressed imbues someone with transcendent value, but that there is no practical (read political) solution without dialog.

And you are right that there is just as much intransigence on the left as on the right. That is why I sometimes surprise people when I say I understand the appeal of Trumpism. There is something satisfying about saying "let's just shit-can the whole thing!" It is just not an appeal that appeals to me at this point.
